The FIL controlled foam wash system is suitable for all milking systems, but especially for the larger bore herringbone or rotary systems now operational on many farms in the UK.

The programme requires 12 washes per week with the acid detergents Quantum Gold or Quantum Blue and 2 washes per week with alkaline detergents Quantum Powder or Liquid.

Both Quantum Powder and Quantum XL Liquid contain caustic soda and other alkaline materials, surfactants and water conditioners.

Quantum Powder also contains Chlorine for additional protein removing power. Always use with hot water to melt fat.

• The chlorine destroys protein deposits.
• The surfactants help dissolve and emulsify deposits
• The water conditioners ensure constant performance in mineralised water.

As well as cleaning, chrolinated alkaline detergents also sanitize. The chlorine is deadly to organic tissue, so kills bacteria. Always rinse after alkali wash with water followed by a dilute acid wash to re-sanitize plant.
